Litzelman Cummiskey, age 92, of Albany Township, passed away on Saturday evening, October 5, 2013 at the Memorial Hospital, Towanda, PA with her loving family at her side. Alma was born June 18, 1921 in Overton, PA a daughter of the late John O. & Bertha Streby Litzelman. She graduated from the New Albany High School a member of the class of 1939. After graduation Alma worked at the Eclipse in Elmira, NY and also at the Sylvania Plant in North Towanda. She married Richard G. Cummiskey on November 3, 1945. They celebrated their sixty-second wedding anniversary in 2008. Dick predeceased her on March 1, 2008 and she remained in their home on the family farm. Alma was a very active member of St. Basil’s Church in Dushore and a member of the IHM Parish Altar and Rosary Society. She and Dick worked on many committees, spaghetti suppers and many parish picnics. Alma enjoyed spending many hours with her quilting neighbors. She loved to quilt, crochet, cook, and bake. She relished in keeping everyone well-fed and happy on the farm. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her children, a grandmother to her grandchildren and a loving wife to her late husband. Surviving: Sons and daughters-in-law: John D. & Mary Frances Cummiskey Endicott, NY Paul & Michelle Cummiskey Tarpon Springs, FL Wayne and Andrae Cummiskey New Albany, PA Daughter and son-in-law: Sharon & David Haus Trout Run, PA Sister-in-law: Mary Cummiskey Johnson City, NY Grandchildren: Todd (Patti), Christopher (Michelle), Matthew (Jenny), David (Katherine), Keith, Jena, Jerika, Joshua, Janelle, and great grandchildren, Robert and Michaela, Alexis, Logan, Rachael and Josephine; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers; Lester (Jim) Litzelman in 1964 and Emerson Litzelman in 1998; and a sister, Freda Bahl Cilvick in 2005. A Transfer Service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at the funeral home on Thursday at 4:00 P.M.
