Gilbert, age 83, of Forksville, PA passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Rita was born in Dushore, September 5, 1930 one of twelve children of the late Ralph John Karge and Geraldine Lorena Crawford. She graduated from Cherry Township High School a member of the class of 1949. After High School she worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Forrest and Waters in Harrisburg for over ten years. She returned home and married Joseph Laverne Gilbert of Forksville on May 13, 1961 and they enjoyed 44 years of marriage until his death on July 14, 2005. Rita was very active with the Sullivan County Fair Association and was the Forksville Correspondent for The Sullivan Review for many years. She was also an auditor for the Forksville Borough for three terms and was the financial secretary for Forksville Community TV Association. Rita was a member of the Forksville United Methodist Church and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was also a member of the Forksville United Methodist’s Women’s Organization, and enjoyed crocheting, her family, friends, and home. Surviving: Daughter: Janet L. Karge Montgomery, PA A brother-in-law and several sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant sister, Anita Winifred Karge in 1945 and by two brothers, Melvin Kenneth Karge of Conklin, NY, Alvin George Karge of Clifton Springs, NY, and a son-in-law, Wayne Rosbach of Forksville, PA Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home with the Rev. Linda Renninger, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Fairmont Cemetery, Forksville, PA Friends may call on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
