Nancy was born March 15, 1944 in Muncy, PA a daughter of the late John Edward & Dorothy Mae Grimm Bonawitz. Nancy attended the Montgomery Area High School. On June 23, 1962 she married Donnie Dale Rood at the Evergreen Christian Church. They lived in Montgomery until 1973 and then moved and made their home in New Albany, PA. She loved to garden, take trips to Florida and to go camping and especially spending time with her beloved grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to Donnie Bankes from Guthrie Hospice and Dr. O’Brien from the Guthrie Clinic for their care and understanding during her treatment and illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water Street, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Terry Van Horn officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, New Albany, PA. Family and friends may call on Thursday, September 26th from 5:00 P.M until 7:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water Street, Dushore, PA.
