John was born on September 4, 1939 a son of the late Stephen F. and Kathryn Adams VanDeMark. He married the former Gail Shaffer of Towanda, PA on May 11, 1963, having recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He graduated from the Wyalusing High School in the class of 1957. He worked for Farm and Home Supply during high school and continued working for them after he graduated. He was drafted into the United States Army and served from 1963-1965. He came back and continued working for Farm and Home from which he retired in 1999 after 42 years of service, and then Farm and Home sent him and his wife on a land and sea cruise to Alaska as a retirement gift. John was a member of the Wyalusing United Methodist Church, having been a former secretary for the Sunday school program. He was a lifetime member of the Wyalusing American Legion Post #534, a member of the NRA, as well as the Eastern Bradford Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. He and Gail have attended and camped at the Bloomsburg fair every year since 1972. John liked to escape the cold weather months to Hernando, FL and in the summer he liked camping at Haigh’s pond. He loved laughing and joking with his family and many special friends. He especially loved attending all of his grandchildren’s events. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Surviving: Spouse: Gail at home Son: Alan F. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at the Wyalusing United Methodist Church, Wyalusing, PA, with the Rev. Dale L. Russell officiating. Interment will follow in Lime Hill Cemetery, Wyalusing, PA. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of P.
