Becker Jr., age 86, of Dushore, PA passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Highland Care Center in Laporte, PA after a brief illness. Ray was born in Mount Carmel, PA on April 2, 1927 a son of the late Raymond Albert Becker Sr. & Elizabeth Porembo Becker. He served in the US Navy during WWII. After the War he worked for the AKZO Chemical Mfg. Co. in Edison, NJ retiring after 21 years of service. He married the love of his life, Ora Minier Lawrence on June 9, 1984 at Trinity Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Mildred, PA The recently celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially camping. Ray was a member of McDermott Post #452 American Legion, Mildred, PA Surviving: Spouse: Ora at home Son: Texas Lawrence Jr. St. Petersburg, FL Daughter: Renee Shrimp New Albany, PA Granddaughter: Nichole Morgan Dushore, PA Great granddaughter: Cheyenne Morgan Dushore, PA Two brothers: Robert (Donna) Becker New Brunswick, NJ Donald (Evelyn) Becker Edison, NJ Sister: Catherine Moore Philadelphia, PA Brother-in-law: Oliver G. Minier Republic, MO Two sisters-in-law: Florence Dieffenbach Liberty Corners, PA Donna Guthrie Kalispell, MT Numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Mildred, PA with Rev. Robert G. Kaltenbaugh, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining parish cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday at Trinity Chapel, Mildred, PA from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
