Beloved husband of the late Virginia (Davis) Coniff and son of the late Francis and Eleanor (Ruths) Coniff was born in Locust Gap, PA on March 14, 1932. He graduated from Mount Carmel Township school in ’50, received a B.S. from Penn State University, Main Campus in ’54, followed by an M.D. from Jefferson Medical School of Philadelphia in 1958. He served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Medical Corp. ’58-62 at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital, Bethesda Naval Hospital, and in Taiwan. Upon returning from abroad, he completed his residency of Internal Medicine at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA from ‘62-‘65 followed by a fellowship in endocrinology at the Medical College of Georgia from ‘65-‘67. Dr. Coniff practiced endocrinology at both the Geisinger Medical Center from ‘67-‘72 and at St. Louis Medical Park, St. Louis, MN from ‘72-‘82. While practicing in Minnesota, he served as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota and as the President of both the Twin Cities Board for Diabetes and the Minnesota Diabetes Association. In ‘82 he was hired by Bayer Pharmaceutical as a Director of Medical Research in West Haven, CT, from which he retired in ‘97. Survivors: survived by his brother; Gerald Coniff in Baltimore, MD, children; daughter Catherine E Coniff in Eagles Mere, PA, wife of Christopher Kelly in Hamden, CT , son Todd D Coniff, husband of Jennifer (Frawley) in Clinton CT, and daughter Melissa A Maggioncalda, wife of John Maggioncalda in Allentown, PA., grandchildren; Jacob, Davis, Madeleine, and Miles. Bob was a member of the Eagles Mere Country Club, Eagles Mere Association, Eagles Mere Conservancy, Eagles Mere Friends of the Arts, and the Eagles Mere Historic Museum. A Memorial Service will be held at the Episcopal Church, St. John’s-in-the-Wilderness, 50 Jones Ave., Eagles Mere, PA on Saturday, September 7 at 11:00 A.M.
