Mike was born in Lopez, PA November 11, 1932, the youngest of eleven children of the late Stephen & Mary Pishnak Klem. He graduated from Cherry Township high school a member of the class of 1951. He served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Mary Lou McMahon on January 17, 1959. Mike worked at GTE Sylvania and on construction before retiring from Penn DOT in Montoursville, as a highway inspector. Mike was a member of St. Basil’s church, Dushore, PA and a member of McDermott Post #452 American Legion, Mildred, and the V.F.W., A.J. Bird Memorial Post #384, New Albany, PA Surviving: Spouse: Mary Lou at home Two sons: Michael (Christine) Klem Flower Mound, TX David (Heather) Klem S. Williamsport, PA Two daughters: Mary Ann Klem Williamsport, PA Karen (Paul) Smurthwaite Woodlands Hills, CA Brother: Frank Klem White Lake, MI Sister: Rosalie Burke Lopez, PA Sister-in-law: Josephine Klem Dushore, PA Brother-in-law: Miles Little Benton, PA 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, George (Boxer) Klem of Dushore, and seven sisters: Katie & Ella Klem, Julia Cole of Lopez, PA, Anna Sokach of Exeter, PA, Tillie Davis of Plymouth, Helen Wenner of Lopez, PA, and Esther Little of Benton. A Transferal Service will be held on Friday, August 16th at 11:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, his pastor, presiding. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M until the time of the service. Graveside Military Services will be accorded by Members of McDermott Post #452 American Legion, Mildred, and the V.F.W., A.J.
