Page, age 75, of Eagles Mere, PA, and formerly of Binghamton, NY and Ithaca NY, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Jan was born in Binghamton, NY on July 4, 1937, the daughter of the late Dorothy Kalmbacher Burdick. She graduated from Binghamton North High School with high honors in 1955. She began her college education at SUNY Albany and married Richard W. Page Sr. of Binghamton on August 24, 1957. Jan completed her education graduating from SUNY in 1960 with a BA in Math and English. She taught mathematics at Chenango Valley High School for several years before the birth of their two children and subsequent onset of MS. They relocated from the Binghamton area to Ithaca, NY in 1972, and retired to Eagles Mere, PA in 2006. Jan and Dick celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last year. Jan was a member of St. Basil's Church in Dushore, and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with their faithful golden retriever, Charlie and was an avid NY Yankee’s fan. Jan is survived by her loving husband, Dick; a son Rick, daughter-in-law Kellie and grandsons Zackery and Quinn living in Lansing, NY; and a daughter Susan Ferrito, her husband Tony and grandson Jacob living in Elmira, NY. Jan was predeceased by her sister Carol White. Jan has an aunt and several cousins and nieces living in New York and Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 10, 2013 at St. Basil's Church in Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick presiding. The family will receive friends at Dick and Jan's home on Shaners Run in Eagles Mere immediately following the Church service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be forwarded to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Upstate NY Chapter, 1650 South Avenue, Suite 100, Rochester, NY 14620-3901.
