Vera was born in Lopez, PA on June 6, 1921 a daughter of the late Matthew & Christine Kelechava Bochnovich. She owned and operated the Hotel Lopez for many years until it burned down in the great fire of Lopez, on April 30, 1982. Vera was a life member of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church in Lopez, PA and was President of the Board of Trustees for 14 years. She and Dorothy Riordan of Lopez in the middle 1960’s cleared up grounds and were instrumental in the formation of the Lopez Recreational Association establishing the Lopez Park. She was also the Vice Chairman of the Lopez Centennial Committee which organized the 1976 celebration and parade in Lopez. Surviving: Son: Stephen Gulich Jr. of Lopez Daughter: Sandra (Paul) St. Germain of Lopez and Lewes, DE. A nephew, John Kachmarsky and a niece Irene (Jurek) Kowalski and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Anna Kachmarsky on August 5, 2007. Burial Service will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Vladimir’s Church, Lopez, with the Rev. Nicholas Solak, presiding. Interment will be in St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, Lopez, PA. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614. There will be a Panikhida service at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
