Hallam, age 82, of Estella, PA passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013. Pat was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 23, 1930 a daughter of the late Hugh Francis McCarey & Florence Hurley. Following graduation from Southern High School in Philadelphia, PA, she worked for A.T. & T. Telephone Company as a switchboard operator for long distance calls for 20 years and also served with the Marine Corps Reserves from 1952 to 1958. Pat also worked for Smith Kline French Pharmaceutical Corp. until her marriage to Dick. She married Richard Charles “Dick” Hallam on June 29, 1963, in Holy Cross Church in Springfield, PA; they would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this June. Pat became a stay at home mother and housewife, while her sons were growing up she was active in the Cub Scouts and served as a Den Mother. Pat was a member St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA and was active in church. In previous years she was active in BVM Church, in Darby, PA and also in Holy Cross Church, in Springfield, PA. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Surviving: Spouse: Dick at home Two Sons and daughter-in-laws: Richard & Debra Hallam Chester County, PA Charles & Robin Hallam Quincy, IN Two Granddaughters: Amber Marie Hallam Quincy, IN Christin Joan Hallam Quincy, IN One Great-grandson: Gunner Robert Minnick Quincy, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Hugh Francis McCarey in February of 1968 and by her mother, Florence Hurley McCarey on March 7, 1975. She was also predeceased by two brothers: Hugh F. McCarey Jr. and Charles Patrick McCarey and by a sister, Maryellen McCarey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, her pastor, presiding. The family will receive friends at St. Basil’s from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the Mass. Arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614 The family will provide the flowers and ask that memorial contributions be sent to St. Basil’s Restoration Fund, PO Box 307, Dushore, PA 18614.
