Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, PA. Harry was born in Trenton, NJ on February 5, 1931 a son of the late Harry J. & Elsa Julianna Joachim Haltmeyer. He graduated from the Trenton Catholic High School, a member of the class of 1949. He served in the US Navy from 1949 to 1953 and attended the Naval Electronics School at the Great Lakes, IL. He served aboard ship in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He worked in manufacturing in New Jersey until he retired to Cherry Township in 1988. Harry’s passion was the love of nature. He enjoyed many years hunting, fishing and exploring the woods of Pennsylvania. He had a thirst for learning and eagerly shared his knowledge of God’s beautiful creation. Family and friends will miss Harry’s selfless, giving spirit. If you knew Harry, and had a need, he would figure out a way to help you. Harry was a man needing few material possessions. In lieu of a memorial contribution, please pass on the wonders of nature with those you love. Surviving: Three daughters: Ellen and husband Steve Fleck, Huntingdon, PA, with whom he resided; Anne Pemberton and Joanne Stevens, both of Cape Coral, FL; a brother, Thomas Haltmeyer of Glendale, AZ and a sister, Eleanor Santin of Flemington, NJ; six grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Haltmeyer of Cape Coral, FL. A Memorial Service will be held at McAlevey’s Fort Presbyterian Church on Sunday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m.; Rev. Dan Morris officiating.
