Dieffenbach Contini R.N., age 85, of Drexel Hill, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Paoli Hospital in Paoli, PA. Marie was born at home in Colley Township on June 22, 1927 a daughter of the late Worth J. & Lydia Bowman Dieffenbach. She graduated from Dushore High School a member of the class of 1945. She later graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Nursing School. She married Gianfranco Contini Ph.D. of Italy on April 18, 1952. Frank predeceased her on December 14, 1996. She worked as a nurse at the Graduate Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Lansdowne for several years. Marie was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Drexel Hill. She was a loving spouse, mother, and grandmother and she was a truly gentle soul. Surviving: Daughter and son-in-law: Consuelo & Bernard Duroc-Danner Houston, TX Sister: Regina Fedor Camp Hill, PA Three grandchildren: Alexandra Duroc-Danner Adrien Duroc-Danner Luke Duroc-Danner and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother; Leo Worth Dieffenbach of Dushore on February 18, 2003; and two sisters: Anne Larson of Minneapolis on May 7, 2010 and Marjorie Nelson of Voorhees, NJ on October 6, 2009. A Transferal Service will be held on Friday, March 15th at 10:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614 and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 14 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
