McDonald Yonkin, age 87, of Dushore, PA passed away on Monday, October 01, 2012 at the Hershey Medical Center, in Hershey, PA Margie was born in Lopez, PA on November 27, 1924 the eldest of four daughters of Joseph A. (Skeeter) & Mary M. Zondory Kracoski. She graduated from the CherryTwp High School a member of the class of 1942. She married Andrew L. McDonald of Dushore, PA on April 26, 1945 and lived in Dushore her entire life. Andy predeceased her on December 4, 1983. Margie worked at the Sullivan County Court House in Laporte where she was appointed the Domestic Relations Officer by the Judge when that office was created in the 1980’s. She also worked the news desk at The Sullivan Review for several years. She married John H. Yonkin of Dushore on October 15, 1992. They spent their winters in Ft. Myers, FL and he predeceased her on December 12, 2000. She was a member of St. Basil’s Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Margie was a loving mother and grandmother and great grandmother and had a great gift for detail. Surviving: are one daughter, Marie Pedro Bonanni of Dushore, PA; three sons: Michael J. (Deborah) McDonald of Muncy Valley, PA, Mark J. McDonald of Dushore, PA, and Richard L. (Charlotte) McDonald of Carlisle, PA; 8grandchildren, Domani Pedro, Laura Mackey, Stephanie McDonald, Michael McDonald, Kaitlyn McDonald, Shawn McDonald, Stephen McDonald, Alyssa McDonald; 4 great grandchildren: Riley Mackey, Tailynn Mackey, Aija McDonald and Tommy McDonald; step-children, Thomas (Mary) Yonkin, Sayre, Pa; Frank (Bonnie) Yonkin and John (Kathy) Yonkin, Dushore Pa; Kathy (Gene) Brown CT; step-daughter-in-law, Linda Farrell Yonkin; 14 step-grandchildren Karen Yonkin, Maryanne Yonkin, Mark Yonkin, Patrick Yonkin Peggy Yonkin, Ina Yonkin, Carol Yonkin, Connie Yonkin, Shawn Yonkin, Ethan Brown, Evan Brown, Emily Brown Brian Yonkin, Stephen Yonkin, and 7 step-great grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Dorothy M. Deegan, of Clarks Summit, PA, Mrs. Marian K. McMahon of Laporte and Mrs. Joan (Walter) Ammerman of Clarks Summit, PA. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas McDonald on August 23, 1978 and stepson Larry Yonkin in November 2003. A Transferal Service will be held on Saturday Oct 6, 2012 at 8:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Dushore, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M and from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers and ask that Memorial Contributions be sent to St. Basil’s Restoration Fund, PO Box 307, Dushore, PA 18614 or the Dushore Fire and Ambulance Assoc., PO Box 1, Dushore, PA 18614.
