Frances was born in Brooklyn, Susquehanna County, PA on January 19, 1935 a daughter of the late Robert Edward Watkins and Winifred Squires Watkins. She was raised by Frances Valentine Watkins & Edward Watkins, her grandparents. She graduated with honors from the Nicholson High School, a member of the class of 1953. Frances began working in the A&P Store in Montrose where she met Stanley A. Frystak. They were married on April 24, 1954 and enjoyed 48 years of marriage. Stan predeceased her on December 11, 2002. They moved to Wyalusing where she worked for the former Acme Markets. She owned a Tropical Fish Store for several years. She and Stan purchased the Edgefield Court Motel in East Wyalusing in the 1960‘s and they owned and operated the motel through two floods until they sold it in 1986. Frances went to work for the Bradford County Area Agency on Aging retiring after 12 years of service. Frances served as the Senior Center Manager at Park Place in Wyalusing for several years. Frances was extremely active in the Wyalusing Community her whole life. An avid bingo player, she not only played everywhere but she called bingo at the Wyalusing Valley Fire Company Carnival and the Wyoming County Fair Association. She was a life member of both the Wyalusing Valley Fire Company and the Wyalusing Post #534 American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving: Three children: Winifred Mosier and partner Thomas Brown of Terrytown; Thomas & Susan Frystak of Macedonia; and Delta Ann Frystak, Terrytown; 6 grandchildren: Jason (Janet) Otis, Terrytown, Melinda Otis, Laceyville; Betsy Ball & Ed, Wyalusing, PA; Valerie Mosier, Nanticoke, PA; Leslie (Russell) Peterson, Wyalusing, PA; and Keegan (Ashley) Canfield, Terrytown; 13 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: William (Judith) Watkins, Alva, FL; Edward (Janice) Watkins, Nicholson, PA and Robert (Carol) Watkins, Smithboro, NY; brothers and sisters in law: Walter (Alice) Frystak, Montrose; Edward Frystak, Montrose; an also a special caregiver, Betty Haught, of Terrytown, PA She was predeceased by an infant son, Russell Watkins and two brothers, Jack Watkins of Vestal, NY and Lester Watkins of Nicholson, brothers-in-law, Chester (Janette) Frystak of Montrose, and John Frystak of Dushore; a sisters-in-law: Theresa (Bob) Decker, Vestal Center, NY and Charlotte Frystak of Montrose. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA 18853 with the Rev. Dennis W. Fox, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church, Terrytown, PA officiating. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery. Friends may call at the Homer funeral home on Thursday, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
